Master of Arts in Teaching: Secondary Education

Teachers are in demand and valued in the State of Iowa. Morningside is fortunate to offer one of the only programs in the state that allows you to use your existing bachelor’s degree in an endorsable area (ie. Biology, English, family and consumer science) to become a teacher in an Iowa middle or high school in less than two years. This is a great option for anyone looking for a career change and wishing to help shape the future by becoming an educator.

Program Specifics

The Teacher Intern Program is a two-year program delivered in a hybrid format that allows individuals with an existing bachelor's degree to become a licensed teacher in the State of Iowa.

Admission Requirements

Bachelor's degree in an endorsable area from a regionally accredited institution, preferably a shortage teaching area in Iowa
Minimum 2.75 GPA
Three years of post-bachelor's work required
