Morningside's Nylen School of Nursing looks for qualified candidates who can contribute to their graduate programs. We focus on educating the greatest nurses in their fields of study! The outcome is worth it, whether you receive a post-bachelor's certificate, master's degree, or doctorate.

Our admissions process

Applications and acceptances are reviewed and determined by the Graduate Nursing Faculty Council.
All required admissions items must be submitted in order to be considered for acceptance.
Those accepted will be notified in writing.
Course enrollment is determined by availability and program acceptance, as well as meeting all requirements.

The Morningside University Nylen School of Nursing has investigated the general requirements for licensure in each state and territory. Morningside University Nylen School of Nursing baccalaureate and master’s program have full approval from the Iowa Board of Nursing. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing/master’s degree program in nursing/and post-graduate APRN certificate program at Morningside University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). Morningside University has been approved by the state of Iowa to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement. As of July 1, 2020, the BSN, MSN, DNP, and Post-Graduate Certificate program meet the following state requirements outlined here. Graduate Nursing
Program Options

There are several different tracks you can pursue in our graduate nursing program, and they are designed with you in mind. Whether you’re interested in working in all patient health care delivery settings or you want to take on a leadership role in the medical field, our classes are geared toward setting you up for a successful career in nursing.

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING PROGRAMS

Our Master of Science and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs allow you to build on your existing career in the medical and nursing field while continuing to work while in our program. Our professional faculty provide practical, learning in an online environment that offers you great flexibility at a pace that works for you and your schedule.

DOCTOR OF NURSING (DNP) TRACKS

Building upon the bachelor's and master's degree programs that are already part of the Nylen School of Nursing, Morningside's first doctoral program will allow you to reach the pinnacle of your nursing education with two distinct tracks, including options for BSN to DNP or MSN to DNP.

POST-BACHELOR'S CERTIFICATE

Morningside offers a Clinical Outcome Post-Bachelor's Certificate. This certificate is ideal for nurses with a Bachelor's Degree in nursing who wish to expand their scope of practice.

POST-MASTER'S CERTIFICATES

If you already have an MSN degree, further your education with a Post-Master's Certificate. Each certificate will allow you to expand your scope of practice. You'll also gain a better understanding of specific roles.
