The DEI Committee is responsible for coordinating and overseeing activities and events on campus involving topics focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The committee was established with the goal of advancing positive change and creating a community where all students, faculty, and staff at Morningside are heard, welcomed, and supported. Students, faculty, and staff can serve on the committee.

The goals and responsibilities of the DEI Committee include:

  • Organizing and executing activities throughout the year focused on topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Morningside and beyond.
  • Sponsoring academic and cultural special events and programming.
  • Assessing the Morningside campus environment and cultivating a community that embraces diversity and inclusion, promotes cultural awareness and understanding, and provides opportunities for all students, faculty, and staff to learn and celebrate their cultures and identities.
  • Serving as a liaison and host for discussions and ideas regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion from offices, departments, and organizations across campus.
